UNLICENCED DOCTOR JAILED FOR 25 YEARS FOR INFECTING PATIENTS WITH HIV VIRUS

Yem Chroeum was found guilty of infecting more than 100 people with HIV at North western Battambang province, and was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment. The Cambodian Doctor allegedly infected these patients, by reusing dirty needless. The rural area has a problem of illegal doctors which are often the only option for medical care. when report emerged in 2014, people rushed to the hospital for retesting. Part of his charges included an intentional transmission of HIV virus and running a clinic without permission from the Ministry of Health.
